Louder Kantele
|
Activity level |
Active (Since Jan. 2002)
|
Description |
In the louder kantele project, the TKK Laboratory of Acoustics and Audio Signal
Processing is co-operating with the instrument builder Jyrki Pölkki from Soitinrakentajat Amf.
Our goal is to develop a louder kantele and research the posibilities to use the
same ideas to other string instruments. The main ideas are Jyrki Pölkki's and the role of
the Acoustics Laboratory is to scientifically investigate his hypotheses.
Some of the goals have already been acomplished. The future will contain reaserch whose
goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental ideas and the physics behind them.
